Post Season Play There are four types of post season programs/teams in Region 20: (1) League champions from divisions U10, U12, and U14 (2) Teams from divisions U10, U12, and U14 that represent our region in the Area 1P All-Star Tournament (3) Spring Select Tournament teams from divisions U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19. (4) Spring Scrimmage Program In U16 and U19 divisions regular season play involves interregional competition and some of our teams could make the Area playoffs in upper divisions in November. The league champions in U10, U12 and U14 divisions represent Region 20 at the Area 1-P League Champions Playoffs in early January. These teams have absolute priority over the other post-season teams regarding players. A league champion team might advance to the Sectional and State tournaments to be played in March. Our All-Star teams in divisions U10, U12 and U14 participate in the Area 1-P All-Star tournament in mid-January, following the conclusion of the Area 1-P League Champions Tournaments. These teams might advance from this tournament to the Sectional Tournament in early March, and after that, to the State Tournament in late March. The All-Star teams will also play other tournaments that do not conflict with All-Star tournament play. All-Star teams cannot be formed before December 1. In addition to the All-Star Teams we also have Spring Select Tournament Teams in U10, U12 and U14 divisions and, based on player demand and coach availability, we typically have U16 and U19 teams as well. We encourage as many teams as there are qualified coaches and committed players. For those players looking to play soccer in the Spring and maintain their soccer skills without being on an All-Star or Spring Select team, we offer a co-ed Spring Scrimmage Program. The program will take place in a fun and pressure-free environment. The focus will be on playing soccer scrimmage games, though the kids will also do a little skills work with coaches.
